thinking of dropping
by: Pi phiI didn't go through formal recruitment and ended up accepting a bid for pi phi during the school year last year. I felt completely disillusioned about what being a founding member would be like based on some of the exaggerations I was told by the people from nationals. I think I would have been a lot happier in a different sisterhood. I don't know if I should drop after this semester or stay for the hope of it getting better. I feel like I already wasted so much money.

You pledged last year, so you're already initiated. If you drop, that's it. No more Greek life for you unless it's multicultural or professional or whatever. If you have a daughter, she's not a legacy. You can't rely on any networking, and you lose out on what honestly is a big aspect of social life at USC. Keep in mind, things can only go up from here. Each year, Pi phi will get more girls, more experience, and a bigger presence on campus. Things WILL change, and you can be a part of it! But if you really hate it, it's your decision. Just know what you'll be missing if you do.

This is something you should talk to your chapter president or membership chair about, not the internet. Tell them your concerns and ask how they plan on addressing them. Pi Phi is still new so there's a lot of room for improvement. But if you've been in it this long and still feel like you haven't met any worthwhile people then there really isn't a point in staying.
