snap bids

Yesterday my friend (who also dropped out) got a call being offered another snap bid.. Are they still giving them out?! How long do people get called back for???

Do you mind telling me who the snap bid was from? I dropped out too, but didn't get a call. :(

I heard from a rep and the office of Greek Life or whatever that they're only given out on bid day. My friend in AGD said they are given out for a week after bid day. So if your friend got one, the rep at the office was probably wrong, so i'd say a week

So the way we refer to things may be a little different. For us a snap bid is offered right before bid day. Now we are COBing (choice of bid) before Pi Phi colonizes. COB calls do not necessarily mean we are offering you a bid on the spot. We may want you to come by and talk a bit before that. So if you dropped and are still wanting a sorority, maybe call the greek life office or talk to a sister you know to see who is COBing.

Everyone is COBing even if they aren't open about it because Greek life raised the total number of girls in every sorority and it's almost a 100 more than previous semesters so that means sororities have to compensate if they want to still be recognized. I know personally I am not in DZ and pretty much everyone is scrambling my BFF got a cob from axo and another girl got one from ZTA

AXO an ZTA absolutely did not give out snap bids..I know AXO had over 130 girls so they were way above quota.

Yep. See, looks like everyone is doing in for good reasons, not because they suck, and not just ddd as everyone always seems to think and slam them for.

Exactly. It's not a bad thing it's actually out of their control and basically everyone is doing it

Yes but it also doesn't mean that if you got dropped by a sorority or you put them number 1 on pref and got your number 2 that it's "unfair" some other girl got one later. Be respectful of the ladies who gave you a bid, they are the ones who thought highly of you.
