out of state students

by: northernlights

What's with the bias against out of state students? I have felt it and have heard it mentioned a lot.

it seems you could be Miss America and have curd cancer already and still not get into the house you want

Is it just the lack of connections (from family, high school) with girls already at USC?

not true at USC - totally true at Bama or other places.

at usc, you might have a slight disadvantage if you're from a "not cool" place like new jersey, ohio, upstate ny, illinois, the ne, etc. but ALL sororities have yankees and girls from all over.

like 8 years ago, the only respectable sororities that would take girls from certain other places (within reason, like DC/VA/MD, Kentucky, California because its "cool", hell, even North Carolina at the time) were XO, AXO, and ZTA. This actually might be part of the reason some still feel they are on the outside of the top looking in.

Adpi, KD, DDD for the most part did not take ANYONE north of Charlotte.

Times have changed a TON, but this past is 100% true.

Now, you can get a bid from Adpi with a crazy Boston accent.

Don't worry about where you're from, just be yourself and if you fit in, they will take you.
