jus because you know somebody in a fraternity does NOT mean you will get a bid. especially if you barely know the guy. There are over 100 guys in every relevant chapter, and don't forget he is just one of over 100. his personal word alone is not enough to get you a bid. It helps as an in, but you have to do rush yourself. And if you don't get a bid, don't go asking why. That just leads to a convo nobody wants to have, or him ignoring you. and youre better off not letting it get to you and make you feel bad. If you are actually friends, he'll do the best he can for you. If not, don't expect a huge effort from him. in fact id say do not talk to him more than like 2 minutes max during your visits.
