bottom tier
by: Honestly
When I was a PNM, I couldn't help but look at this website. I knew to take everything with a grain of salt, but I still couldn't help but look. I thought recruitment would be a breeze, I did well in high school, my resume is impressive, and I can carry on a conversation with anyone. On pref day, I found myself down to Gamma Phi and AGD. I felt hurt, thrown away, and completely lost. This website and a lot of people's attitudes had made me feel like these chapters were the bottom and nothing to be happy about. But I am thankful every single day that I took my bid. I was worried that the girls would be socially awkward, sloppy, and people who struggled academically but that is so far from the truth. I am constantly amazed by how smart and involved my sisters are in all aspects of campus life, and I am still trying to figure out how they always look put together in 8:05 classes.
In a few weeks, it is a very real possibility that some of you will be standing with your list of pref round parties trying to decide if you want to drop from recruitment or not. I STRONGLY urge you to go to your parties, take your bid, and run to your sisters on bid day because it has been the best decision I have made regardless of what "tier" people will classify me in.

Literally this is the sweetest post I have ever seen on this website. Being from one of those bottom two, it stung when I was down to two. I felt exactly the same way, but now I could not be happier that I did actually accept my bid, it was the best decision I've ever made. God bless.
