self-ranking
by: Drama Free PNMI don't want to start drama, but I have a question. Why is it O.K. for ADPi, DDD, and ZTA to write positive things about themselves in the individual sorority section, but not O.K. for AXO and XO? I was just looking at them and it looks like those 3 post just as much in response to remarks they don't like. Seems like there's a double standard to me.

no, op was definitely being snarky with the whole "why is it ok for ddd and zta and adpi but not for axo xo" thing. don't be snarky.

I've been reading all this stuff on this site this summer to prepare for rush. I really don't understand why everyone gets so upset about self-ranking to begin with. I want to be part of a sorority where the sisters love it and want to promote it. Would you want someone to say, "I hate being a member of XYZ?"

there are also people genuinely ranking other sororities as well. i'm a big fan of tri delt and axo for instance, and I've given them both glowing recs because i think they are awesome.
so there are good self ranks, bad outside ranks, and good outside ranks. they are all going to offset each other, so really, just go through rush and keep an open mind.

To Stop-- that's exactly what OP's point was. There's also no proof that axo/xo are the only ones posting the good things about themselves either.
