rushing as a sophomore

Hey y'all, Im an upcoming sophomore here at USC and decided to wait until this year to rush because I didn't want to be too overwhelmed freshman year. I'm really nervous because I feel like sororities would pick freshman over sophomores seeing as they would have an extra year. I have a 3.7 GPA and I'm involved in two honor societies but those are pretty much the only extra circulars I have from last year. I really want DZ, ZTA or KD ( I know its early and I may change my mind during rush) would it be way harder to get in as a sophomore and its that something to address when we're talking to all the girls already in the sororities? I'm super nervous because of this!!

Before anyone jumps on you about it, since you're a sophomore , you can definitely have favorites, or think you know more what you're interested in going into it. Might change, but still, ok. DZ easier to get into than the other two but an awesome sorority. Good luck!

I rushed as a sophomore and had no issue- I was asked back by the maximum amount of houses each round and ended up in the one I wanted.

However, definitely keep an open mind because some houses you think you have good ideas about will completely surprise you during rush. Think about how you feel in each house and how natural your conversations flow. Good luck!

There is absolutely no need to worry! If anything you should feel more comfortable. You're going to be talking to girls your age and you'll probably find it easier to talk to them because of it. :)

Plus we have upperclassmen quota.

most sororities (if not all) will take at least one or two upperclassmen, minimum. obviously helps if you have friends in the sorority, but i know of a lot of transfers and even girls who didn't know anyone who still got bids.
