I keep reading that certain sororities only take wealthy girls. Is this true? How would chapters know how much money you have? It's not like my parents are submitting their tax returns so I can go through rush. And it makes those sororities sound really superficial.

do you really want to think you only got a bid because of how much money you had? No. no one cares how much money you have... except really shallow people that you're better off without anyways. we are all broke college kids and sororities dont care

Well "bucks" is one of the B words that isn't supposed to be talked about at all during rush. Having said that, both kd & tri delt asked me what my parents do.

someone asking what your parents do for a living does not necessarily mean they are trying to figure out how rich you are. I can see why it sounds that way and some girls probably do mean it that way but I can see someone saying that as a general convo starter
