rush ?

So, if I am to understand, DDD makes a big cut after round 1. When do others start making the big cuts? Do most chapters only cut for grades or huge problems after round 1? What is the deal with maximizing options? Thanks!

From what I've seen:

Tri delt cuts huge after round 1 (which sometimes comes back to bite them)
Adpi cuts huge after round 1 for grades
xo has a somewhat big grade cut after round 1, but keeps a lot of cool girls who they see something in regardless of grades
Kd cuts large after 2nd round
Zeta and axo cut big right before pref

The others are either random or don't cut a lot

This might be a dumb question, but how do they even know your grades? How do they verify your good grades?

Grade info. is provided to the sororities by the Greek Life office. Didn't you have to list your GPA when you enrolled in recruitment? And didn't you list your GPA on your resume' ?

The chapters make cuts according to RFM, which is based on the compilation of several years worth of invitation acceptance statistics for each chapter. Chapters that have a higher invitation acceptance rate ask back fewer girls. Chapters that have had lower return rates are able to ask back more girls. This starts when the chapters make their first invitation lists and continues throughout recruitment. So ADPi and XO being the only chapters that make huge cuts after first round, KD making a huge cut after second round, and ZTA cutting big right before pref. is not correct. All the chapters are basing their invitations on the numbers suggested by the RFM expert assigned to us.

What does RFM stand for? So, its a statistical analysis done by each chapter of return rate of pnms?

RFM is retention rate.

Is it true that if I maximize my options I am guaranteed a bid?

You are never guaranteed a bid, but if you give every house a chance, you maximize your chances of getting one. Get off this website and go through rush, trust me.

If you make it through to pref night, you are guaranteed a bid. But the process makes it really hard for you to do anything but "maximize your options." For example, after the first round, you put your top 8 houses, and then rank your bottom 3 by which you'd most want to go back to. Then the computer software does its thing and you get a list for round 2 with a maximum of 8 houses and so forth. Just wait until Recruitment you don't need to worry now.
