snap bids
by: PNMI keep reading that DDD had to give out snap bids. What exactly is a snap bid and why did DDD have to give them out?
#1 by: well.
I am going to start out by saying that I do not want to start any drama and I am simply answering your question, I have many friends in DDD and think they are cool girls…
however that being said, a "snap bid" is a bid given to a girl on bid day that was previously dropped from DDD and went on to drop out of recruitment altogether or was dropped from every house and DDD then had to call them up on bid day and ask if they would want to pledge tri delt in order to meet quota.
every sorority has to have a certain amount of pledges and DDD is notorious for dropping a LOTTT of girls the first couple rounds and only keeping a small amount of girls that they know they want. BUT what they ignore is that pnms also can make their own decision and some will choose other sororities over DDD. So in order to fill in all the spots of the pnms that didn't choose ddd, they have to call girls that were previously dropped from all houses or dropped out of recruitment, called "snap bidding", causing some not so amazing pledges.

DDD prides themselves on the amount of girls they are able to cut (like about 1000 girls the first round) it adds to their "exclusive" image...which didn't work to their advantage 2 years ago although they didn't give out snap bids the past year. Tri delt catches a lot of slack about dirty rushing as well, they seem to know who they want long before ever meeting PNMs which isn't the best attitude but they usually only want girls who they already know.
