values

by: GreekLove

The cattiness has really gotten out of hand this summer. I believe some people on here have forgotten what it truly means to be Greek. As it states in the 2014 Guide, "Our community was founded on the values of scholarship, leadership, friendship and service, and our members strive to live out these values each and every day." All of you who are fighting over who is "better/prettier/better liked/richer," may need rethink what it means to be Greek.
Every sorority round is based on one of those values and we don't just do it to do it. These values are what it means to be Greek and these are the values you should be promoting on here. If all you are concerned about is a pretty face, then you should be doing pageants and not wasting your time and money in a sorority.
We should ALL be proud that we are Greek instead of tearing each other down. We may not all share letters, but we are all brothers and sisters in this Greek community and the lack of unity is embarrassing. I think everyone needs to reflect on why they joined, rethink their values, and focus more on how to better themselves and their chapters and not on what everyone else is doing or tearing each other down.
We are a part of a great university and a great Greek life and it's very important everyone works together to keep it that way.
