if you don't have a connection is it impossible

I have a few buds in a few different fraternities but lets just say for example I wanted to rush Kappa Sig and knew no one in the fraternity. Say I was a perfect fit, good-looking, sociable, very wealthy and southern. Would it still be impossible to really have a decent chance at getting a bid just because you need inside members to invite you to events and such?
