fraternities have older brothers who live outside of the village and throw huge parties at their houses. you aren't going to see people pouring drinks out of a keg in the front lawn of sigma chi if that's what you're asking.
fraternities also rent out bars and have ragers there.
parties at the fraternity houses are mostly like hall parties on the top floor and pregames. before you start saying something stupid, usc is one of the biggestparty schools in the country - we just use multiple venues to do it.

you can definitely party at fraternity and other people parties off campus, but after freshman year, you'll want to be DT. that's where they real social scene is at and it's amazing. trust me, it' not that the house party scene is weak, it's that the bar scene is just ridiculous.

there are parties like that at usc... but they are definitely held by the gdi crowd. southern greek life isn't like that, there's class.
you should probably stay in ohio / nj / insert OOS yankee place here.
usc is the greatest place to party, and i'm not going to defend that anymore.

LSU, Ole Miss and Bama all have parties like that. USC is just lame. By far one of the weakest SEC schools to party at
