is rushing worth the time and money?

by: USC2018

I'm an incoming freshman and just kinda wondering if rushing is for me. Obviously it's a lot of money to participate and a big time commitment. I'll have a bf at USC and want to spend time with him and play sports on top of rushing. Would I have enough time or would I be overwhelming myself? Is paying the money really worth it?

It depends on how into that kinda stuff you are, is your boyfriend in a fraternity/planning on rushing one? If so, honestly you can still go to functions/tailgates/be involved with greek life but if not I would seriously consider rushing especially if you're a social person. Greek life is a huge part of the social scene here at USC and you'll always have something fun to do

Would I still have time to do stuff out of Greek life? I've heard it's a huge time commitment! Also my bf wouldn't rush would he be able to do a lot of the functions with me?

You'll definitely have time to do other things. For the average member I would say there isn't that big of a time commitment. And you can bring your boyfriend to all your functions (just not mixers.) Just remember you get out of Greek life what you put into it. Although you can put in the bare minimum, you may enjoy your chapter more by getting more involved in it.
