fraternities
by: rushingDoes it really matter what tier of a fraternity you are in? I am rushing and I was wondering if I should make my choice based off of just how well I get along with the brothers or chose the best fraternity that offers me a bid.

Not to be a douche but they do matter a bit. The upper tier fraternities tend to get hotter sororities at their events and it's a better panty dropper to say you're in SAE as opposed to TKE or Delta Upsilon. However as long as it's a solid fraternity on the row (or Pike) it's not really gonna matter if you're in say Pi Kapp or Chi Psi instead of SAE of Sigma Chi. Some of the upper-middle tier fraternities actually have some of the best parties/brotherhoods

This all sums it up. South Carolina is very greek life oriented. Unlike a lot of schools, the fraternities don't have to allow any outsiders into their parties or events. They are also very exclusive and have a lot of tradition, especially those on the row. Being in any fraternity is good, and being on the row opens almost all doors. But there are definitely a lot of perks for being in one of the top houses.
