to rush or not
by: JuniorI'll be a junior this fall and was thinking about rushing...I heard that most of the sororities will drop you faster if you are an upperclassman because they obviously prefer freshman. Is this true, and would it help that I'll probably be staying for an extra semester or maybe even a 5th year? I'm really just looking to be involved with a good group of girls for the rest of my college experience and I'm afraid I won't be given as much of a chance because I'll be a junior

It may be hard to rush as a junior, but it's not impossible. Also, Pi Beta Phi is a new sorority coming to campus this fall so they'll be taking a lot of girls and will definitely take older girls, too. That would be a good option for you if you're worried about formal recruitment because Pi Phi won't participate in that this fall but would still give you the opportunity to join a sorority!
