Bid day gifts practices

Hello,
Have a niece in rush this year. What is the protocol for bid day gifts from family. Is there special place to order from? Is it flowers? We want to send the right gift. Any help?

Parents don’t go to bid day usually so if you want to send your daughter something I would just wait til you find out her bid and send something small to her dorm
