I'm from the north and successfully rushed this past fall. You should not limit yourself to only 3 sororities. Go through rush with an open mind. The sorority I thought I wanted going in wasn't the one I clicked with at all. It will be harder for you coming from N.J. Get your recommendations and work on your conversation skills. You only have a short time to make a good impression. Good Luck!

You can forget KD...they only take Southern girls, especially S.C. girls. Lots of girls from the private schools in Columbia.

Ignore the girls above. Some are really catty. You don't want to get stuck with that. Even the "top" sororities on here have a lot of girls drop. Just try and go with an open mind! Also get recommendations. Tiers are kind of non existent here because there are so many girls, and all the sororities are basically the same thing. Just different prices and stereotypes.

We took many girls from NJ! But please go through rush with an open mind. It doesn't matter to a lot of sororities where you're from just as long as they feel like you belong.

I know of girls from New Jersey who are in KD. Granted there are a lot of girls from SC in it but I don't think that will affect you at all. Just be yourself and be and you'll end up where's right.

You should probably be a little more open minded. You cannot go into it hoping to get a top house and honestly all three of the houses you named are polar opposite, so you might want to actually meet girls in the houses before you choose.
