Mid tier fraternities
by: YoI’ll be rushing at USC in the fall. I don’t have connections to many of the top tiers, so can someone give me a run down on the better mid tier fraternities? Normally wouldn’t ask everyone but rush could be hard over zoom lmao

Phi Kap is all northern but they seem to have a good time and a decent amount of girls like them. Fiji has a good tailgate tent and not much else but mostly southern boys and respectable. Phi sig is a really random group of guys but usually throw really fun events and seem to be on the rise. Theta chi I think is kinda like phi kap. Sig ep is full of wusses. And don’t join beta

Theta chi has a good amount of people and will give bids to most kids, but girls like them. Figi has good lots and is becoming pretty respected amongst Greek life. Dke has a good tent and good parties. Phi kapp was probably the top of the mid tiers but now they are pretty on par with the rest. Most girls like sig eps but many think they are soft. Beta has a house now but people have and will continue to hate on them.

Honestly i never really knew phi sig was a thing until recently. From what I’ve seen no one goes to their tent in the lots and I’ve never really heard of their events. I guess they only reach out to a small group or something bc none of the people i know really know anything about them.

phi sig’s tent in the lots makes up “the U” with pike and chi psi assuming nothing changes this year

there tent used to be pretty fun and then i heard they made up that pit area with chi psi and pike but could be wrong. i think ur right they just have there select groups but a few of my friends have gone to and enjoyed some of their things

My personal favorite is fiji because they are so nice, have fun tailgates/events, treat girls with respect, & i have never felt unsafe around any of them. With that being said, that’s only my own opinion, so you really can’t go wrong with any middle tier frat because they are all super chill so just go where you feel most comfortable & where you get a bid from because sorority girls don’t tend to all have the same fav frat so you will still meet a mix of girls anywhere you end up.

FIJI- probably the best out of of the middle tier. Attractive guys some northern some southern
Phi Kap- close behind FIJI but more Northern (Maryland/NJ)
Phi Sig- Northern guys, chill and well liked, fun tent at the lots
Sig Ep- from all over, guys who aren’t super into being in a frat. Care a lot about grades and are involved on campus
Beta- everyone hates them but they do have some groupies. Honestly no clue where they are from but having a house will probably bring them up in ranks
