Middle tier difference

Kapp, dz, and xo have been here forever and are well established and respected middle tier sororities. Phi mu’s only been here for like 8 years. I think the current structure guarantees they will continue to exist but that’s the difference. They would be the bottom of that group.

XO/DZ
KKG/PHI MU

XO has history being on the upper end of ranks and pnm’s like them at recruitment so they’re top of middle tier, but I see them falling in the future because they are becoming less relevant on campus and they have a annoying reputation on this website.
DZ has always been on par with kkg but now they are rising to chi o’s level because highest GPA, recruiting chill nice girls, cute philanthropy etc. I know a handful of people who picked DZ in the end over a top tier house

KKG there’s nothing wrong with girls in kkg at all I just kind of see it as a default house during rush like if none of the houses you like better want you but kkg keeps you, you be happy choosing it. Even less relevant on campus than Chi o

Newer and you really don’t hear much about them at all unless those are your friends...They do a good job recruiting normal not really weird girls which is what differentiates them from the bottom tier.
I remember liking them during rush but not enough to keep them in the end.

Bottom line is they all recruit girls of the same caliber so they’re considered middle tier together but in the end they’re often (but not always) a girl’s backup choice.

Usually what happens to girls is they end up on pref day with either a top tier and bottom tier house or one of these middle tier houses and a bottom tier house. Picking any of these middle tier houses will pretty much guarantee a solid, good sorority experience.

XO: at one point were higher in the ranks so they seem to always be seen as the top middle tier house. Mix of good, chill girls but definitely experience more drama than the other houses.
KKG: solid, respected middle tier house. Diverse mix of girls including basic, chill, sweet, and crazy party girls. Because of the mix can be seen as cliquey because everyone finds their smaller group of friends that are like them.
DZ: kind of kappas twin but less of the party girl reputation. recruited well this past year and their bid day theme was a hit but they are usually just nice, solid (irrelevant) girls.
Phi Mu: the reason you are in this house out of all the middle tiers is that you are smart and put academics first. Every sorority still has fun but this is the known “smarter” girl sorority. Classy.

Overall if you want parties go XO/KKG
If you want an unproblematic rep go DZ/PM
