Really disappointed I thought I was doing everything right and not one of the 3/6 houses I liked wanted me back :( any tips for next year if I rush again

Unless you become very good buddies with girls in those "3/6" houses, the odds are not good. Also, so houses have a "once cut/always cut" policy.

Look at COB (much less intense), and get over equating your self worth with an organization's status.
