The device is going to make usc’s rush much more competitive and selective. With already six sororities approved, and two others on the wait list a lot of PNM’s will be pre ranked before they even step foot into their first house this fall. The device will rank girls based on income, social media followers, high school, grades, where they’re from (southerners have the advantage on this end), legacy status, major, and a lot more. It should be interesting to see how differently things play out this year and if the device really does change Greek life at USC

All the sororities using the device are trying to be secret about it because a lot of people think that it’s shallow but it’s really the only way to find top pnms

My sister goes to Bama and their machine is a “secret” society that basically influences campus politics and it’s still run mostly like an old boys’ club. That being said, she says some houses pre-score based on legacy, letters of rec, “top” status etc. so I’m sure social media and where you’re from has some influence.

Lmao... this isn't real even a little bit. No sororities have "the device" because it doesn't exist. Don't use greek rank its the dumbest website and it's a complete waste of time to think that stuff like this exists. Spreading half-baked rumors about made up things is a great way to make yourself sound like a moron.

The Machine is real and it runs SGA at Alabama amongst other political organizations. The 'device' being mentioned here is less sinister but equally real. It is simply algorithms developed to 'pick' the PNM for your organization. Different groups will weigh characteristics differently depending on what is most important. i.e. money, looks, gpa, legacy, insta followers, etc. It is a more scientific method in choosing new members. It is being used by six top houses currently. Just the facts ladies.
