do the top sororities only take girls from the south?

No sorority will drop you just because you are not from the south. While some sororities are much more southern heavy (like adpi, kd and tri delt) that doesn't mean you won't find your home there and get a bid.

Zeta and a chi o are mostly northern. Being from the north won’t stop you from getting a bid one bit. It’s really just about your personality
