It’s not about meeting quota. It’s about chapter total. Pi Phi and AxiD have the lowest chapter sizes (because thy’re still new) and will most likely participate in the spring. This is why ZTA has done spring in recent years. Not because they didn’t meet quota, but because they have availability from not being near total.

Correct -- It's not about having a great pledge class, or two, or three. It's overall house size. When you've only been on campus for a few years, it's impossible to have a full house size. So, while these sororities have had amazing pledge classes the last couple years (and props to this year), they can't make up for the smaller numbers in the pledge classes from a few years ago. Add to the travel abroad, etc for shrinking the numbers artificially in all houses, and you see why spring rush is actually not solely about your fall pledge class size. When you hear about sororities needing to do spring rush who you may not have expected or ones you are wondering why they still need to, it's good to dig deeper into the reasons why. Plus, it's an excellent opportunity for others to join any of these great houses without needing to go through the nightmare exhaustion of fall recruitment.
