How do legacys work during sorority recruitment? Does it hurt your chance with another house to list that your a legacy to another house.

Yes, it can hurt your chances sometimes. They may assume you are going with your legacy house. It is a good idea to just let your legacy house know by having your legacy connection send in whatever form their national uses.

It can hurt if you continue to feel the need to tell houses you’re an XYZ legacy. I recommend not mentioning to any chapter but your legacy house. Also understand that if you make it to pref with your legacy house, you’ll be at the top of their list so if you end up not liking them, don’t rank them high near the end. Most houses have legacy policies so rounds 1 and 4 are usually good for legacies. The in between is where you’d have to worry about drops.
