rush tips
by: AlumJust wanted to give some advice to the boys going through rush. I know a lot of this site is devoted to girl drama but boys need to realize it’s actually harder for them to get a bid. Girls freak it but they’re literally garunteed to be in a house if they just go through rush. Boys statistically only have a 5-10% chance of getting in the house they want. So make sure to keep an open mind and talk to everyone.

Even harder if you’re out of state, since most houses already know the guys they’ve been rushing over the summer. As it said before, keep an open mind. Most universities that aren’t even as big as USC have close to 30 fraternities, so don’t dismiss the ones that might not be in the top 5 or even top 8. The whole Greek culture at USC is pretty awful in how artificially exclusive certain fraternities are. Truth is most houses here are less than 10 years old because the university keeps cracking down, and many “top” ones (with the exception of a few historic ones) are only rising because other fraternities were kicked off.

What part of 5-10% do you not get. Only 40% of guys actually get a bid that enter rush anyway. About 1200 rush and 400-50 get bids. Fraternities only have 30-40 man pledge classes not 150 like the girls so keep an open mind and find where you fit
