how/where do i get recs?
by: PNMPeople's opinions on getting recs for rush has been up and down, but a little extra help can't hurt either. What should I do if i don't personally know anyone who was in a sorority? I was thinking I could look up the chapters name, alumnae, and my local city to possibly find people to write recs for me? Do any of ya'll have any advice on it?

Get your Mom to ask all her friends and contacts if they were in a sorority. I got my Mom on it last year and she got me recs for a lot of the houses. Most sororities have alumni groups in most areas that could write one too. Ask your high school counselor about it. They may know someone too. Good luck!

rec's dont matter. some random lady who doesn't know you won't know what to say about you. I didn't have a single rec and I got invited back to all my top houses after first round, whereas girls I know who had recs for almost every house got dropped from their top choices and had to go back to houses they tried to drop.

@ yeah.....
Don't be such a clam. This is a place where we can all be ourselves without reservation. They have questions, we have answers. Be honest, ladies, because there is no "US" and THEM" on this site. Take a breath and go iron your sheets or something if you are that uptight. Rushees...PNMs ...by whatever name, they deserve answers to the subtleties of this process that no book is EVER gonna cover--and YOU KNOW IT.
So CHILL SISTERS. Because without them, our houses close. And last time I checked, Greek life is expensive and if we frighten too many of them away....so goes our society.
SO. PLAY. NICE. ;)
