sorority recruitment
by: northern galIm from the northeast. I love the south and i love big football and everything like that, but im still from the north. Im blonde, tall, and thin with decent grades (3.2) and recs (multiple) for every house. will sororities like Kappa Delta or (DDD, ZTA, XO, AXO) cut me just because of my zip code or will i be given a fair shot?

pretty much all sororities have girls from the north. some more than others but it shouldn't hurt you TOO much. recruitment has gotten very competitive at USC but if your conversation and looks stand out they will notice you. Just get your recs in and focus on representing yourself well during recruitment. it can be very helpful when you already know girls in the houses, but don't worry you will be given a fair shot!

The only thing I would worry about are your grades. 3.2 is a little low for some houses like ADPi. A friend of mine from the Northeast was dropped by them last year and she is a beautiful girls with a 3.8. She ended up pledging a different top tier house and is very happy. There is a place for everyone...you'll find your home.

Practically every girl here is blond, tall and thin. You have to let your personality shine so you stand out. Also, almost every girl down here has multiple recs. Rush is very competitive. Prepare your conversation skills. BTW...KD is a very Southern sorority here. They take a lot of S.C. girls, especially private school girls from Columbia. That's just the way it is.

I'm in one of the sororities you listed and I have sisters from everywhere. South Carolina, Massachusetts, California, Missouri, and pretty much everywhere in between. Also 3.2 is decent enough for pretty much anywhere (except maaaayyybe ADPi or XO) as long as you have other things to back it up like extracurriculars.

under a 3.0 and you're automatically cut from most sororities after the first party. a 3.2 is pretty low but it shouldn't hurt you too much
