not joining a fraternity?
by: hw17I don't want to be a part of a fraternity but I don't want to be socially isolated. Is USC not the place to go? It seems pretty greek-dominated to me but I can't really know until I get there. Anyone have anything they can tell me?

If you're a dude, then you're gonna have a tough time getting to parties and social events. You'll make a ton of friends that are geeds (which is fine, i guess), but y'all will probably just sit around and do nothing while all the girls you know go to our parties and drink our alcohol.

You can absolutely have an insane time here without going Greek... there are tons of people who are gdis that have Greek friends and vice versa. Maybe freshman year you won’t be able to go to Greek parties bc any connections you have would be pledging, but between five points, other house parties, tailgates, etc., you’ll still have an awesome time. Don’t listen to these losers.
Also, honestly, around 8 or 9 years ago, fraternity life basically got upended by a rouge new frat that wanted a charter and they narced on a ton of frats, getting them all booted off campus, and frat life has kind of sucked since. The sorority culture is pretty good, but tbh, the social scene is just so strong here too to bottom that it all really doesn’t matter. Greeks spend more time dt than at Greek parties anyways, and literally anyone can do that

literally everyone here saying your life will suck if you aren’t in a fraternity is in a bottom tier frat bc they are that big of a loser to believe it, although they are the type that wouldn’t be able to get anyone to hang out with them if they weren’t in a fraternity, so it kind of makes sense
