phi kappa tau colony

by:

I know phi kappa tau is starting a new fraternity colony here in the fall and was interested in possibly joining. Since they are a colony, will they still have social events or mountain/beach weekends?

It all depends on the money the new guys bring in and alumni support. Example: No one really heard when TDX came on campus so I doubt they can afford to have a bunch of social events. However FIJI had a lot of alumni support (and FSL support). They had a presence in Memorial Lot, had open bars to get girls to mix with them, and I guess they have other events too. I'm not at all saying they are one of the good frats, but they have more going for them than the bottom of the barrel. If you're truly interested in colonizing, I think Phi Kappa Tau would have decent alumni support so it's possible to still be social.

If you're more concern about social events, then you are joining for the wrong reason. Colonization takes a lot of work, there are many requirements that need to be fulfilled in order to become a chapter. The chartering process takes 1-2 years. Reach out to them, attend a function or two and take it from there. If the USC greek community didn't think PKT was capable of making it on campus, then they would of not invited them to campus. There are other frats that would just love to be on our campus.

Phi Kappa tau is a solid new fraternity. They already have 13 alumni members in the area. It's definitely worth it to check it out.
