g phi and pi phi
by: ScaryY'all it's scary how bad gamma phi and Pi phi are. They both had classes in the low 70s when quota was 108. Even AGD has stepped it up and made quota. We need to help these chapters or seriously they will have major issues staying open

I heard the same thing - that they were focusing on quality not quantity to improve their image. Hopefully the girls that received bids will recognize that. Plus, regardless of what the trolls on this site say, Gamma Phi gets high marks for sisterhood. And, isn't that one of the primary reasons to be in a sorority?

And to add to that - they were the first new sorority in decades here at usc, setting up the opportunity for all you new sororities to have a chance to establish yourselves. They will be fine, and aren't going anywhere. Pay attention to how many down votes this gets - if it gets a lot, it is very telling about the new sororities.

Honestly posts like this are disgusting. Pi Phi did wonderfully last year, and made quota in Fall 2015 so I don't know what's been going on, but they've done extremely well in both GPA and chapter total.
Gamma phi had a leadership consultant with them during the spring to try and help them turn things around (I don't know if she's still with them) but they're really working hard. And if they took 70 quality girls over 110 with having 40 that didn't want to be there/ were just there to say they were in a sorority/ party then what's wrong with that? Sisterhood is about more than a "tier" and more than whatever trolls say online. I'm not in either chapter but I'd rather have someone who cared about the values and being a better woman than someone who just wanted to be a sorority girl.
Go get to know some people instead of judging them for their letters. Maybe if everyone would take the time to do that then these two perfectly good chapters wouldn't be in this situation. There needs to stop being a polarization of "good" and "bad." Every sorority has both good and bad qualities, but what's most important is the fit for the INDIVIDUAL.

preach. good for both of those chapters and good for greek life (even though it's dead) at usc.

You know what - if that's true, good for them. seeing their PC, they had a handful of really gorgeous girls, so it just goes to prove that all the sororities here are great. plus, they actually have some history now after being here over 10 years. Good for gamma phi.
