be prepared
by: Dear AbbyTomorrow is the big day! Congrats on making it this far. All the sweat and tears have brought you to the best day of the year: Bid Day. That being said, unfortunately everyone doesn't get their first choice. It happens and many get through it. Others, however, are those girls who are crying in their bid day photo. Don't be that girl. If you didn't suicide, you have guaranteed yourself a bid to one of your two pref houses. This means you agreed to accept a bid to whichever house gives you one. If you get your first choice, congrats! If you receive your shirt and it doesn't have the letters you expected, take a deep breath, buck up, and find the girls who extended their sisterhood to you (no matter the letters.) The system is tough, but it works. Go through bid day, try to meet girls in your pledge class. DON'T complain the chapter isn't for you after this one day. You don't truly get to know people until later. Give it a month, go to a function, put yourself out there and try. Actually try and don't go through the motions. You get out of it what you put into it. Congrats to everyone who has joined the Carolina Greek Community. You did it!

This is the most important message for PNMs. Give every house a shot. Try to have fun. I hated my house on bid day but decided to give it two weeks before I dropped. Two years later I've made the best friends of my life and do truly believe in the system. Remember that this is a happy occasion for the girls welcoming you to their sisterhood and try to feed off their energy. Good luck tomorrow ladies, you all deserve to find your home!

DO NOT CRY ON BID DAY
If you do you are a terrible person and so disrespectful to the people who for some reason decided to extend friendship to you.
Don't be d ouche - if you are it's because you are a horrendous, selfish person. As such, I will put it in terms you understand - it will make you look bad and you will never live it down. If you have any nonselfish parts, it is hurtful to others.

you think it is isn't terrible and disrespectful to tell someone they're a horrendous person for crying over a sorority house? its not like they're murdering anyone, and they're allowed to be upset. Freshman have no idea how silly all of the tiers are, they can't help that they don't know how things actually work
