crushed at rush

by:

does not making a top tier sorority define who I am? am I not cool enough, not pretty enough, or what? I don't understand why I was dropped from so many houses and am left with the ones that are considered "bottom". should I just drop and rush next year?

all I'm saying is I feel like there's some "it" factor I'm missing because I feel like every girl I talk to made it into an amazing house. can someone just tell me why??

There is nothing wrong with you. Plenty of girls are in the same boat as you so please hang in there. Please don't let this define your South Carolina experience if you decide to drop out.

you have a worse chance rushing again. Its harder for sophomores especially to get into "top tiers" dont you want to be around girls that want you instead of girls that don't?

Maybe you aren't as fake as they are.

If you think you're too good for those "bottom tier" girls then yes, you should drop. You sound like a sorry shallow girl, because those women are about open their arms to you on bid day, and all you can think is that you're too good to be there? Suck it up. Life isn't fair, and you're not as special as you think you are.

When I rushed I ended up at pref with a "top" tier and a "bottom" tier. I went with the "bottom" because they felt right. I have never looked back. If you are rushing for sisterhood, tiers don't matter. If you are rushing because you want a sorority to validate you, then you may want to drop because you will never be happy. One last thought, ranks are different everywhere. What is lower ranked here may be #1 at another school. You won't spend the rest of your life at Carolina so you may end up connecting with women at your workplace that consider your sorority top tier.

I was in the same boat as you. Give it a chance. Spring rush will only be happening for the new sorority this spring so you literally can't even do Open Recruitment, so you might as well finish the week and give the sorority a chance. You never know, you might fall in love with it like me. I thought I was too good for my sisters and I realize now that if I had gone the sorority I wanted to, I would hate it. Trust the system!
