why greek stereotypes matter
by: Big SIs
It's something no one wants to talk about, almost everyone hates at least one characteristic attributed to their chapter, however there is a reason that you SHOULD pay attention to stereotypes. When you come into the University you are going to be scared and excited, you are going to want certain things for yourself, want to be a specific kind of person. Whether or not anyone wants to actively admit this, stereotypes at USC are there for a reason and girls/guys in a certain greek organization WILL influence you to be like them. You can most definitely be your own person, but your friends shape your personality almost as much as your parents do, and you have to take that into consideration while rushing. That being said, every person wants different things out of college, just remember, who you are in college and the decisions you make here will stick with you for the rest of your life.

Lol. This is so dumb. Once again. Not every woman in every house fits the negative stereotypes. Therefore regardless of the house you are in you will be able to find a group of women that will enrich your life in the way you want. whether it be partying everyday. studying everyday. or whatever else. Stereotypes DON'T matter because it's a house of 300 women. Maybe if there were 40 women in the chapters it'd be a different story. But you have a huge pool of people with whom you can chose to associate.

Idk I feel like she makes a good point, yeah there's 400 girls in every sorority but if it's a so sprites stereotype than obviously a majority of the girls in said sorority are like that, who would want to have to deal with the struggles of being the oddball out? Why would t you give the stereotype a chance? Yeah you obv shouldn't base your entire judgement off of the stereotype but I feel like it definitely should at least be considered.
