The hardest part of SigEp's transition from drinking club to a substance-free service organization is making this philosophical shift in the membership and community. Most of our members didn’t sign up for a dry chapter house with no pong tables or Fireball shots. The National fraternity is supporting chapter leaders who are really bought in to making SigEp a substance-free chapter here. We can be confident that SigEp is on the right path. It will somewhat different, and certainly a lot less risky social program than what we had, but it will be an even stronger brotherhood with real accountability when brothers make bad choices.

Not everyone can keep up with SigEp's leadership and high standards.
The vast majority of students coming here do not want to join Greek life. In other words, harmful stereotypes about fraternities as drinking clubs harm recruitment. At SigEp, our substance-free fraternity is a differentiating factor and is a huge competitive advantage. Our substance-free fraternity provides a support system for doing what students actually want from their college experience.
