Can someone explain the process of rushing a frat?

I am an incoming freshman interested in rushing, does it start on day one or it is spring? Also should I be reaching out to frats in the summer to be like let me know when there are events I know some other schools be doing that

Go to the Sigep website and you just initiate yourself as a brother. Don't forget to pay your dues.

Official rush is in the spring but during the fall houses will have events and you’ll probably meet a lot of them. When you get to school in the fall just get together with some kids on your hall and try to go to all the houses to see which ones you like. People usually don’t reach out before hand. You’ll figure it out once you get on campus, it seems intimidating at first but the rush experience is really fun and you’ll enjoy it.
