what is hazing?? examples please!!

Greek Blog from this spring...crime was charged as hazing for the sorority...this is one of many where hazing is not what a middle schooler would be uncomfortable with. Club sports haze harder than this but are never brought up. Varsity sports and band haze even more and crickets. But it is a war on greek life by the admin - go figure - they are trying to end the white wealthy privilege of greek life.

INCIDENT SUMMARY:
LTA is allegedly hazing the women pursuing membership in the organization by not allowing them to
talk to friends, wear make up, walk on Memorial Walkway, and other requirements not outlined in the
new member education plan that was submitted to the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life.

You took responsibility for the following charges, any other listed charges were dropped
Respect for Others D1 (Hazing)

As a result of this behavior the following sanction(s) will be imposed:
Lambda Theta Alpha Sorority is placed on disciplinary probation effective April 6, 2018 through
December 31, 2018. Disciplinary probation is the conditional continuation of a group or organization for a specified period of time not to exceed four semesters. This status implies that any further violation of this Code of Conduct may result in dissolution, termination, or other authorized sanctions. Other sanctions may be imposed, including limitations on social activities, and additional requirements may be imposed as conditions for reinstatement of recognition in good standing.

The following educational sanction is being imposed: the chapter must work with OFSA staff to
determine a meaningful role that the members of LTA can play in helping to plan and execute hazing
prevention week during the fall 2018 semester. It is to be completed by September 7, 2018.

The following educational sanction is being imposed: the chapter must work with OFSA and other
support (nationals, alums, etc.) to enhance the new member education plan to include specific
expectations of new members and any activities they are expected to be involved in. It is to be completed by October 12, 2018.
