The poor girl was crying in front of people after bids went out so people know... all houses had to take at least one sophomore with the new quota... the reason AOII sophomores texted was they found out this girl had ranked another house above them so they told her she didnt deserve to be a member. (not her fault they cut too many sophomores before pref.)

That is a big problem.

Bids have to be made in good faith. Making bids and threatening the recipient is a problem for Pan Hel and with Nationals, because it undermines the integrity of the process and may possibly be a crime.

If true, it is no different than threatening a sorority president that they will be beaten up if girl x is not offered a bid. That can't happen, and this can't happen.

If it is true, and if someone were to report it, AoPi would probably receive a sanction. Maybe they are too much like AXO.

How much trouble they get into depends on the details and whether they report themselves for cheating on the rules for rush before someone else reports them. Cheating in the rush process is very serious because it gives them an unfair advantage vs the other seven sororitys.

Potentially if they lie about it they could lose their charter. Alternatively, The Panhellenic Counsel they handicap them in the next rush to make up for cheating on the other seven stats in this rush.

Cheating on the rules is serious. If I were the President of AoPi, and this is true, I would get a letter sent tonight to mitigate the damage before they are caught.

With hundreds viewing this thread, I would think that AXoPi would deny it, if if weren't true.

I don't think that they would lose their charter, but the members involved might be removed from the chapter. That still leaves the issue of making it right by the girl who was mistreated.

But they could lose their charter if this occurred and was unreported because in that case every member of the chapter failed to report it and is complicit in attempting to cover it up.

I see that people are mad, but this is not a huge deal. It does need to be addressed, and I am sure it will be, but yikes.

I think it's time to put this thread to rest. The sophomores in gphi and aopi attended bid day, signed their bids, and seem very happy with their decision. It's upsetting to them to see a thread about them on here. Let them be and let them enjoy themselves.

This thread is important, especially until this situation is explained and the truth is told. I hate to see a girl get hurt if they really told someone not to accept their bid.

agree with truth. If true, this gives both sororities a black eye and makes all of green life look bad.

Well Stop,

Please tell us. Did AoPi give a bid to a sophomore and then bully the girl to reject her bid with threats? If not, then what happened with that girl? Please explain?

If so, then sorry this ugliness is ruining the days of other pledges, but bullying is not allowed. AoPi needs to address its conduct.

Nobody told sophomores to drop. Yes, the girl had preffed another sorority over aopi. Since she was a sophomore and had friends in the house, aopi girls did not vote for her to give her a better chance of being high on the other sororities list and get a bid there instead of aopi because that’s what the girls thought she wanted. Unfortunately, the other sorority didn’t give her a bid. So someone told her that if she really didn’t want aopi then there was still a chance she could potentially get a snap to the other sorority since it looked like they did not get as big of a pc based on pictures. But the girl didn’t take that chance and I think everyone is really excited to have her now. So please stop spreading rumors about this, it’s realy damaging to all of Greek life at Lehigh and looks extremely petty on your part. Maybe next time talk to the girls in aopi or Panhellenic directly ?

"..did not get a bid based on PC pics" there is no way that when the bids were handed out that PC pics were available. This is straight up fake news.

Truth,

Members of the Greek Community are legitimately concerned about AoPi's behavior and its impact on that sophomore. The concern isn't going away because so many people saw what happened. If Pan Hell won't even stand up against bullying, then we should close down Greek Life now. What will be damaging is if AoPi continues to deny, deflect, and refuse to address the incident honestly.

As "no way" has pointed out, your story is simply not plausible. Combined with days of silence from AoPi, it gives the appearance that AoPi doesn't want the truth to come out, and is now trying to spin its way out of the incident instead of being responsible and accountable to the other Pan Hell members who were there.

For everyone's benefit, AoPi needs to address what happened honestly, and soon. The problem is growing not disappearing. 800 people have now viewed this thread. Reach out to everyone who saw this incident with an email and explain what happened honestly, and what AoPi did to fix it. If you tell the truth, you will gain our respect. If you continue to lie, we are going to know.

We are all waiting.

@wait "did not get as big of a pc based on pictures" meaning the pictures of the other sorority's pc had less girls in it than other houses. This meant there could be a possibility they were under quota and could possibly give a snap bid to the sophomore that wanted them. This is a true example of people taking words and twisting them around...
