tiers?
by: ?As an incoming freshman, what determines tiers? Also how much of a difference do tiers actually make? Is it just a thing where some houses just say they're better, or is there a more tangible difference?

As someone who joined a "bottom tier" fraternity, the biggest difference is that it is much harder to schedule parties and other events with sororities, especially the "top" ones. Despite that, I absolutely love my fraternity because we have a great brotherhood that I fit in great in, and if I were to go back in time and be given bids from the "top" houses I'd still choose my house 10/10 times. Go to whichever fraternity or sorority you feel the most comfortable in, status is nice but over rated, don't let that be the deciding factor for you.
