I agree with your comment. Unfortunately, your credibility was thrown out the window when you incorrectly used "farther." Farther is used when speaking of literal distance, i.e. "the store is five miles farther down the road. Further, on the other hand, is used when speaking of a figurative or metaphorical distance, i.e. "AGAM being a good sorority could not be further from the truth!"
