Not surprised that SK is starting a chapter at WG. I can't imagine that either ADPi or AOPi would want chapters at WG. It just isn't a good fit as those are more upper crust sororities whereas SK is more average. WG has an average school and average greek life. Most top tier sororities always do presentations when invited but they do a minimal presentation if they don't want to be invited to colonize. I believe this is exactly what ADPi and AOPi did. It was a polite way to give WG the brush off. As a recent UGA grad and an old row greek, my opinion is that SK is not anywhere near the top of new row at UGA. They have struggled for years, both at UGA and nationally. It's admirable for UGAGreek to come on here and take up for sk there was nothing to take up for. So, unless you are a SK, I don't understand why you are so defensive. SK has improved some but not to the level that you are speaking. WG, good luck to your new sorority. SK is the best pick for you.

One more thing, just because people express an opinion about a sorority, ie. Sigma Kappa, not being high in the rankings, does not mean that we are doing something wrong. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.
Also, West Georgia, one Sigma Kappa chapter at a tiny college in rural Ga is not going to fix Sigma Kappa nationally. Ideally, panhellenic systems do their research ahead of time and choose a sorority that is strong to begin with and that sorority will be an asset to your chapter. It seems that your panhellenic didn't do their research on Sigma Kappa's national rep and strength, or lack thereof. Either that or you picked the weakest sorority so that your other houses wouldn't have to feel threatened. If that was your motivation, that is not very kind to Sigma Kappa. Just an outsider's point of view.

You pretended to go to uga but then you said that they don't compare to dg and agd 'there'. lmao! You are obviously at wg. Not just a disappointment to some of the girls but some of the frats aren't happy about snakey k either. Why didn't we get to vote? If we did, snakey k would not be on this campus.
#45by: No vote
not everyone in every chapter got to vote. voting was different for different chapters. looks like the ppl who did vote didn't know sh#t about who they were voting for and who they were turning down. way to go wg, can't wait to transfer to uga where they have real sororities

#47by: not true
the 'real sororities' at uga are:
chi o
adpi
kkg
aopi
theta
phi mu
all the rest are mid or bottom tier. nice try. and even the mid and bottom tier chapters at uga such as tri delt are nothing like the bumpkin tri delts here at wg. most of them wouldn't even allow a wg tri delt to affiliate.

UGA does not have AxiD. They were kicked off campus years ago. AGD and SK are bottom tier at UGA and ADPi and AOPi are top tier. Below comment is very true. Those are the top tier chapters at UGA. And the so called top chapters at UWG aren't even equal to the low chapters at UGA. So glad I didn't go to UWG. Love BAMA! BAMA is at least comparable to UGA.

I think it would be best if West Georgia students refrained from commenting about UGA sororities. Since it is a bigger school with a more historic panhellenic system, you really are out of your league when you comment. Whoever made the comment about 'the real sororities' being the same at UGA clearly doesn't know a lot. UGA only keeps the best sororities on campus and Alpha Xi Delta left years ago and Sigma Kappa and Alpha Gam are barely hanging on with each recruitment. ADPi and AOPi are in the top tier, along with Kappa Kappa Gamma, Theta and Chi O. Please get your facts straight or keep your mouth shut. Less embarrassment for you.
