by: kidI'm transferring to UGA next fall as a sophomore. I'm from the north and don't know anybody at the school, so would there still be a chance of me getting a bid to a mid/top tier?

Guy or girl? You'd have a decent chance with a sorority since they all have an upperclassmen quota they have to meet. Frats will be much harder but you could probably end up in a mid tier one of you have a good personality. Honestly tiers shouldn't matter though. If you like the people you end up with, stick with it no matter what tier it is.
