sorority rush questions
by: Georgia Bound
Hi! I'm looking ahead to Sorority Rush in the Fall and was wondering if y'all could help me with a few questions...
1. Is it possible to get around the first year live in requirement by moving into your sorority house? Do the sororities allow new members to do that?
2. Can someone please explain how the quotas work? Is that like the minimum number of pledges each sorority is allowed to have? Or the maximum? Why are there quotas?
3. Will we be allowed to participate in the Freshman Welcome or will the sororities have other stuff for us after Bid Day?
Thank you!

1. Absolutely not you have to live in a dorm no matter what. You can live in the house sophomore year.
2. Quota is max. They have them so that all sororities have a basically equal amount of new members.
3. They won't schedule freshman welcome and bid day on top of each other since they're both for a lot of people so don't worry about it.
Hope this helped! Any other questions?
