does being a legacy matter?
by: LegaciesOkay, so I'm a double legacy Kappa and was wondering how hard it is to get in Kappa here and if me being a legacy matters at all? I know they are considered old row here and it was like that when my mom went here, but it seems like rush has changed a lot sense she went to school. Can anyone answer my questions?

You just gave out WAY too much information! Do not give out anymore. Being a legacy just means they will know more about you and be more aware of you. And 99% of the time you will automatically get an invite to round 2 as a gesture. If you are top kind of girl, good grades, well put together and polished with a great attitude you will do fine. Let's say you make it to pref night and they are choosing between you and basically a carbon copy of you who isn't a legacy, then it might help. That's how it works at my old row house (which isn't Kappa). But for the love of god don't set your self on one house! I was a legacy for 2 different houses and neither of them were best fit and I still got on old row. Good luck!

If your mom or the other legacy family member is not really involved and active with this house (volunteering/donating & such) or if you don't have other family members currently in-house (like cousins or something) then I doubt your legacy status will help you. Generally being close friends with in-house girls is the main thing that helps you get in a sorority.
