why?

I am confused as to why Pi-Phi isn't considered Old Row here? All of the sororities you've listed are the oldest nationally, but for some reason Chi-O was put instead of Pi-Phi?? Anyone know the answer?

I think Chi-O was chosen instead of Pi-Phi because of the placement of the houses on Milledge

Old Row -- a lame designation that was ripped off from Bama, BTW -- is based on family wealth and social prominence, not history campus. Ex: Kappa is Old Row but was chartered in 1948; Alpha Gam is not Old Row despite being the third house on campus (1923). Basically, Old Row = old money

The above poster is right. At bama they have a separate distinction between old row and new row in terms of rankings (for ex: this house is bottom:old row or new:middle). At GA it basically means the organization has a legacy on campus and/or rich people.
