i love greek life a lot...
by: Disappointed DawgBut honestly I don't understand how something that was meant to unite people and is centered around making connections while having fun in college has turned into a giant popularity contest. It disgusts me that fraternities blatantly deny socials with certain sororities because they are "too good for them" or "the girls aren't pretty enough". On top of that the girls and guys within these organizations continuously bash each other in order to "raise they're spot in the rankings", it's not only disappointing but it's downright disgusting. At a time when Greek life is looked upon in the most negative light it is important to put up a united front, but with sites such as Greek Rank and with just the nasty attitude of some Greek members I don't believe that change is on the horizon. So honestly think of this post when you bash another Greek organization, or deny relations with another sorority or fraternity for something as trivial as ranking.

I think frats are typically way worse about this than the sororities here. Most girls in Greek life at UGA are overwhelmingly supportive of each other (just look at how DPhiE was welcomed) but the frat guys think it's all about looks and socials and who they want to hook up with. Greek life is about so much more than that, and I wish the frats would see passed that. Honestly I don't think many people post negative things on here except for the same group of freshman guys and the website developers trying to start drama. To PNMs: please realize that joining a sorority at UGA is nothing like people make it seem on here. They're all pretty awesome so don't let this site cloud your judgement.

Yes I think guys in fraternities are much crueler and judgmental about rankings than the girls are. Guys are honestly much more obsessed with image and worrying about who "deserves" to social with them or not
