what happened with agd?
by: Honestly curious…I don't mean this rudely, and I know none of the houses here are bad, but how is AGD so far towards the "lower" end of rankings when they were the third to colonize on campus? Basically does anyone know the history or reasons behind it? You would think a more established sorority should gave an easier time in rush than all the brand new ones joining later.

DG's campaign to tear down AGD continues. How many posts have you made about AGD at this point? No one but DG would be on here talking about how they got kicked off campus, and no one would even be that threatened. AGD went on probation a few years ago, and NONE OF THE SORORITIES ON UGA'S CAMPUS ARE NEW. Until this year with DPhiE, DZ was the last to colonize in the 80s. Please stop this "DG is new" thing. No, you're just the very bottom house on campus and you desperately want AGD, DPhiE, or SDT to be. You've even attacked DZ and Gamma Phi who are way out of your league.
Why're you so threatened by AGD? I'm certainly not. If you really had such a strong sisterhood you wouldn't be worried about other houses so much, DG.

I realize that DG is even worse than AGD. I am not one. DG's rank makes more sense though because they colonized in the 60s, whereas AGD colonized in 1923. Anyhow, I am asking how each new sorority to arrive on campus surpassed AGD.

DG is one of the newer ones but yeah colonizing in the 60s doesn't make them new. People say that they're new because they got kicked off or suspended for a few years in the late 90s so they had to start fresh after that but with a negative reputation.

Woah man, how /dare/ you ask something like that??? Every single sorority at UGA is identical and tied for first and we're all winners and everyone gets a participation trophy and it's /so rude/ for you to suggest that one is better than another. There are great girls in every sorority!!1!!5!!! This is just so mean, so very mean.
(just wanted to get the pearl-clutching disclaimer out of the way early, since we have to put that on every post for some reason)

Can we take a moment to realize that whenever AGD gets mentioned, DG is blamed for the post. And vice versa. I hope most people on this site realize that AGDs and DGs are all sweet girls. Most of them are friends. Both houses are strong in different areas. You would realize that if people who ARENT DGs and AGDs would stop posing as them and open their eyes.

This is spot on. A lot of the same girls pref at both houses and they hang out with the same frats so a lot of them are friends. They have sisterhood events together and generally support each other since they're both trying to improve. Idk why some people feel the need to stir up this artificial hate on Greek rank but I highly doubt the people who post this stuff are in either of those sororities.

I'm an Alpha Gam at another school and here's my weigh in. We are "allowed" to drop girls based off looks. However, we have several weak factors. we are one of the youngest sororities, I think there's only 3-4 that are newer and they don't have the best rep either. Our philanthropy isn't particularly touching, especially compared to St Jude's or CMN. And we are one of the only sororities to have had a confirmed hazing death. Yikes. That being said, I love what AGD stands for and have never regretted my decision. We just don't attract the most popular girls.

No one asked anything about how this house is at "uwg" whatever that stands for. Nothing you said is relevant to this discussion about AGD HERE AT GEORGIA. And freshman girls that are rushing DONT care about philanthropies. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about but thanks for playing. Lol

As a girl that rushed here, I found that many girls rushing really do care about the philanthropies of the sororities. I know a lot of people that cut sororities because they didn't feel like they were philanthropic enough. Trust me girls are definitely paying attention to how much philanthropic work sororities are doing

Again shut up. You're not a DG or an AGD. Most likely you're not even in a sorority. All houses have scandals. All houses have been in trouble with nationals. Alpha Gam is a great house.

I remember seeing it being said online that there was an article about this in Cosmo magazine. And maybe other news outlets. So how was AGD before this happened? Were they still bottom, or did the scandal make them fall??

SO WHO HAS THE TEA? Why ARE they ranked so low, even though they are third oldest on campus? Is it less alumni support? Voting rules? Money?
I do know a very smart, beautiful, thin girl that they cut because a few other girls didn't like her in high school. And I'm sure it's happened other times as well. You would think they could put personal grudges aside when they are clearly lacking in the looks AND grades departments. Unless she just did something AWFUL. Theres my contribution now let's hear other's opinions
