The Chi Omega sorority was founded at the University of Arkansas in 1895, with the purpose of promoting friendship, scholarship, campus socializing and personal and career development. The Chi-O women support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is currently the nation?s largest sorority.

UGA's chapter is based on boyish granola girls. You know the tree hugging type. Their motto is "Peace, ChiO and Granola."

snap bidding is what a sorority has to do when they can't make quota. this means that not enough girls picked them to make a full pledge class. they have to call up the girls who got cut from every other sorority during rush and ask them if they would like a bid to their sorority. that way they try to meet quota and make a full pledge class.

The Chi Omega Symphony articulates the true ideal of a Chi Omega Sister. Every Chi Omega carries the Symphony in her heart, and most have a favorite line upon which they often reflect.

To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appearances; to be, in the best sense, democratic rather than 'exclusive', and lovable rather than 'popular'; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note.

As someone else posted earlier it just kills some of you to think XO, KAT, ADPi, may have had snap bids AND YET THEY STILL HAVE A REP FOR BEING GOOD. Apparently better than you that is why you feel the need to keep hating. Sorry- worry about your own house why don't you and leave ours alone.

bidding also means the sorority may have cut too many girls and not invited enough back. Goes both ways- they may have BEEN cut but they may also have CUT to many themselves in early rounds. Just thought in the interest of fairness that should be pointed out. Don't know the particulars about any of the specific houses but snap bidding could happen either way.
