The above link is the most recent article regarding a stundent that surrended for firing a gun at the TKE house last weekend.

A University of Georgia student accused in a weekend shooting incident during an on-campus dispute between two fraternities surrendered to authorities Monday night.

Gregory John O’Brien, 21, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of possession of a weapon on school grounds and reckless conduct.

He was released about an hour after surrendering at the Clarke County Jail, after posting a $10,000 bond.

UGA police said O’Brien is among members of the Tau Kappa Epsilon who early Saturday morning were involved in an altercation with members of neighboring Pi Kappa Alpha on Greek Park Circle on UGA’s North Campus. About a half-hour after the altercation, several members of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity stood between their frat house and Tau Kappa Epsilon’s, where a similar number of that fraternity’s members were standing on the second floor landing.

Police said O’Brien was on the landing when he pointed what appeared to be semiautomatic handgun toward members of Pi Kappa Alpha. He then raised the gun and fired a single shot into the air before pointing the gun back at members of Pi Kappa Alpha, at which time the fraternity members retreated into their respective houses.

UGA police identified O’Brien as the alleged shooter after conducting witness and other interviews, and said they seized a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol when searching the Tau Kappa Epsilon house.

The above link is the latest article regarding the student who shot for gun fires at TKE house.

The article states.....
Gregory O’Brien, the University of Georgia student involved in a dispute between two fraternities, will not be finishing the semester as he planned.

Stan Jackson, director of student affairs communications and marketing initiatives, said O’Brien, president of Tau Kappa Epsilon, has been interim suspended.

“The police investigation has concluded and that information has been submitted to the student conduct office and that’s where things are being handled as it currently stands,” Jackson said. “The situation involves individual students. I do know that staff at the Greek life office have been meeting with the student leaders of our campus greek organizations to refresh and go over policies about firearms and campus regulations and that kind of thing, but the situation itself involves individual students.”

O’Brien’s standing with the fraternity is in jeopardy as well.

“We have been partnering with university officials on their investigation of this individual,” said Alex Baker, chief information officer for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, in an email to The Red & Black. “He has moved out of the chapter house, has been suspended from Tau Kappa Epsilon, and the chapter is in the process of removing him as a member of TKE.”
