sorority comments

so called top tier sororities went after private school girls because a long time ago girls who went to public school were considered lower class. Clearly that has now changed I would challenge anyone to be able to tell the difference between a beautiful private school girl and a beautiful public school girl. They are both educated and smart. In my opinion this is why the "top tier" sororities are falling behind.

I agree with Abe and NOT with for sure. All sororites have great girls these days. For sure is not correct. The "so called top tier" sororities attract party girls. They rush girls that were popular in highschool and many were popular for all the WRONG reasons. People from my hometown, some even alums of top tiers are shaking their heads atthe girls their "old houses" are now taking.

i bet that is actually true. 30 years ago there were probably a lot hotter girls here because anyone with a pulse could get in. Now that uga is actually tough to get in, the blond bombshells have to go to southern. Sucks but we still have some of the hottest girls in the world here

The south, including Georgia, is full of small towns with private schools that serve all who don't want their children to attend the local/not so good public schools. Its about education, not social standing per se, and besides, anyone can mortgage their home to send their kid to private school. Suburban Atlanta sends their best of the best to Ivy League and MIT, not UGA! So forget the idea of social pecking order based on some country girl's definition of class. Recruit the ladies who you know will be active, personable, fun to know, and will have your back like a real sister would. What does hotness have to do with real life? UGA girls, act as smart as your GPA and resume say that you are.

Re: snap bids. Rush is a mutual selection process. Some girls who end up as snaps just happened to have cut some sororities they should not have cut, and many sororities had to cut those they they wanted but who didn't make it high enough on their list. Since members are out there dirty rushing their siblings, close friends, etc, lots of awesome recruits get lost in the fray. Some end up as snaps, others end up in sororities that they had not though would be their choice, and many more end up with no bid at all. It all works out...none of you are any better than the other, really. All of you girls are unique and have something to give back to society. Focus on that and your education, because the social stuff is not that important in our current world environment. Get a grip on that. America and your parents thank you in advance.
